Surf gone flat? Surf report got it wrong again? That doesn’t matter anymore because the FlowRider® has come to Cornwall. Now you can surf every day of the year no matter what the conditions are like, at The Loop, Retallack Resort & Spa.

By generating a thin sheet of water, no more than 3 inches deep, that flows over a stationary wave, you can carve & turn, ride up & slide down the simulated wave surface.
The FlowRider® at The Loop gives you the experience of surfing, skateboarding & snowboarding in a self-contained & safe environment.
With our bar area, restaurant, shop and changing facilities located at The Loop you can use the FlowRider®, grab a bite to eat or just get a drink and relax in a Fat Boy giant bean bag and watch all the action.
Enjoyed by both spectators & participants, the FlowRider® is a fully interactive skilled sport in the exciting world of aquatic recreation. The FlowRider® at The Loop allows you to surf even when the sea is flat.
Regardless of age & skill levels, the thrill of surfing a wave can be experienced by parents, teenagers & children alike. With a little patience & practice, everyone can enjoy the thrill of surfing, learn the skills of snowboarding & the tricks of skateboarding!
After your initial safety instructions from our fully trained instructors, you can set off standing up (flowboarding) or lying down (bodyboarding). Carve, try tricks and entertain the surrounding spectators, who will be eagerly awaiting their turn.
The bottom layer of the FlowRider® is made of soft material and with the water flowing over it, makes for a nice soft landing should you fall.
This allows a fearless experience that you will want to repeat again & again!!!

What is a FlowRider?
The FlowRider generates a thin sheet of water that flows over a stationary wave form. The resulting “wave-like” shape permits riders to slide down, carve a turn, and ride up the wave surface, emulating the maneuvers of other board sports.

Do I have to be good at board sports?
It doesn't matter if you're a complete novice or a pro at board sports, it's suitable for all skills and confidence levels.
How does it work?
Pumps located in the pool below inject a 3 inch sheet of water over the engineered ride surface creating a surfable wave.
Is the FlowRider safe?
Yes. The FlowRider is very safe because the participant is moving very slowly over a completely padded surface. It's similar to a trampoline surface, so it's a soft landing despite the force of the water?
Are kids able to use the FlowRider?
Yes! For standard sessions, we have a height limit of 132cm; this is simply because you need to be of this height to manage the force of the water. However, we have daily kids body boarding sessions, where we turn down the speed of the water, so that it's suitable for kids age 7+
